He was born on July 1st in Bayonne.

In the world of Snow Cross, Xavier de Le Rue is a true legend: he is one of the world's greatest snowboarders in this discipline. Starting in 2003, he achieved a streak of victories for 3 consecutive years in the Boardercross World Cup. In 2006, boardercross was finally introduced at the Turin Olympic Games. While everything pointed to him winning a medal, Xavier suffered an injury just weeks before the competition. The diagnosis: a torn malleolus that severely handicapped him. Ankles are crucial in snowboarding. Unable to compete at full strength, Xavier was eliminated in the quarter-finals. However, with nerves of steel, he never gave up: he went on to win the gold medal at the World Championships in Arosa, Switzerland. Xavier is also a snowboarder who particularly distinguished himself at the X Games with a total of 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 1 bronze.

Whether facing sheer cliffs, narrow couloirs, deep powder, or technical features, Xavier applies the peak of his technique to manage every section of the course.

After retiring from competitive sports, Xavier continued snowboarding and ventured into extreme filmmaking. This allowed him to satisfy his thirst for challenge and perform in incredible landscapes: in "Mission Antarctic", with his snowboard as his sole ally, he ventured out to face some of the most formidable icy landscapes on the planet.

He also worked as a stunt performer on the film Point Break 2: he filmed and helped coordinate the Big Mountain sequences in the Alps, and contributed to the film's editing, in which he also makes an appearance.

In 2015, he married Beanie, a former freestyle ski pro from Scotland.

Today, Xavier focuses on smaller-scale film productions while maintaining the same passion. He also delivers keynote speeches across French-speaking Switzerland and English-speaking countries.

When not filming, Xavier splits his time between Switzerland and France: living in Verbier during the winter and in the Pyrenees during the summer to practice other extreme sports.Languages spoken by the speaker
