She has logged approximately 2,500 flight hours, including over 2,000 on jet aircraft.
From the beginning of her career, she took a keen interest in process safety and the individual and collective drivers of performance. She resumed her studies and earned a Master’s degree in psychology. Specializing in the study of cognitive functioning and human factors, she became an expert advisor to the General Staff on the mental preparation of flight crews.
As an instructor at the Fighter Aviation School and then at the Mirage 2000D Conversion Squadron, she developed a particular interest in the development and transfer of technical and non-technical skills that underpin performance, such as decision-making in complex environments and emotional management. She trained fighter squadron instructors in psychopedagogy and delivered theoretical courses on crew resource management (CRM). During her keynote sessions, Marion Buchet presents fundamental psychological principles that guide our actions and connects them to various corporate activities. She illustrates these mechanisms using compelling, well-known aeronautical examples. The questions she addresses, based on current scientific knowledge, include: What are the elements that drive your performance and that of your teams? Why are we sometimes counterproductive? What mechanisms explain why you make the right decision without knowing why? What techniques can optimize performance?
