Passionate about mountains since his youth, he earned his mountain guide certification at the age of 21. A Swiss-Canadian dual national, he has climbed ten of the world’s highest peaks, notably Everest, K2, and Kangchenjunga. Jean Troillet climbs mountains in alpine style without supplemental oxygen to ensure the challenge remains uncompromised.

Mountain guide, photographer (for Animan), sailor, and heli-ski guide are among this resilient adventurer's many talents. He holds numerous records. In 1986, alongside Erhard Loretan, he set the speed record for climbing Everest via the North Face in 43 hours. In 1997, he became the first person to snowboard down that same face. Today, at 69, his thirst for adventure remains unquenchable.

To learn more about this true mountaineering legend, you can read the book "Une vie à 8000 mètres," which chronicles his rich life story. Additionally, the documentary "Jean Troillet, toujours aventurier" retraces his journey as an elite athlete. Founder of an eponymous foundation, Jean Troillet shares his passion for sports and mountains with young people by organizing mountain camps and activities, encouraging regular physical activity, and promoting respect for nature.Languages spoken by the speaker
