A seasoned senior foreign correspondent, Gaetan Vannay headed the "Foreign News" desk at RTS (Radio Suisse Romande) and covered most of the major international crises of this 21^st century. During his reporting assignments, he was beaten in Zimbabwe, detained by Ukrainian intelligence services, arrested and interrogated by Russian military intelligence in Dagestan, imprisoned in Ivory Coast, besieged in Zintan in Libya by General Gaddafi's forces, pursued by secret services in Hama, Syria, and harassed by Syrian regime supporters in Geneva.

Gaetan Vannay has also collaborated with numerous international media outlets such as Al Jazeera, Radio Canada, Radio France (France Info, France Inter), Le Monde, ….
