Yasin Kasirga – Decarbonization Leader & COP28 Architect | Driving Global Energy Transformation

Yasin Kasirga is a globally recognized energy executive with over 18 years of experience in leading large-scale power projects and shaping international climate policy. Currently serving as the Decarbonization Leader for the Middle East & Africa at GE Vernova, Yasin has been instrumental in advancing decarbonization strategies, encompassing both pre-combustion solutions like low-carbon fuels and post-combustion technologies such as carbon capture. ​

His career is marked by the successful development and execution of over 11 GW of energy projects, including 5 GW of gas-fired power plants and 6 GW of renewable energy installations—spanning hydro, solar, geothermal, and more than 25 wind farms across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. ​

In 2023, Yasin played a pivotal role at COP28 as a Senior Energy Advisor to the UAE Special Climate Envoy. He led the « Tripling Renewable Energy and Doubling Energy Efficiency by 2030 » initiative, which was adopted by all parties of the Paris Agreement and included in the final negotiated text.

Yasin’s academic credentials include Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration, along with an Executive MBA from Middle East Technical University. He is also a graduate of GE’s exclusive Accelerated Leadership Program (XLP), selected among 40 individuals from 270,000 employees.

Recognized for his contributions, Yasin holds a UAE Golden Visa, awarded to « Talented Pioneers. »
