In parallel, he held the position of Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne from 2002 to 2006 and subsequently Vice-Rector of the University for Research and International Relations until 2016.
During his 10 years in university leadership, he actively promoted interdisciplinary research between quantitative and human sciences, both nationally and internationally. He organized the World Knowledge Dialogue, the academic discussion with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the 17th Karmapa, and co-organized the TEDxLausanne conference.Languages spoken by the speaker

Philippe Moreillon delivers keynote speeches in two languages, perfectly tailored to all regions of French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland. His own research fields encompass the pathogenesis and ecology of Gram-positive bacteria, bacterial infections in humans and animals, and antibiotic resistance. Currently, he is focused on revisiting antimicrobial resistance and developing new strategies in this field, such as phage therapy.
In addition to his university duties, he is the Vice-President of the Swiss Academy of Sciences, a member of the Board of the ISREC Foundation (Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research), and a member of the scientific committee of the Leenaards Foundation.
His keynote addresses bring high-caliber scientific depth. He speaks with great ease on medical and scientific topics and can address the future of research.
