She began her athletic journey with swimming at the age of 10. In 1992, under the name Magali Chopard, she won the title of Swiss champion in the 400m individual medley. She made triathlon her profession: "a dream job," she confides. In 1997, she began her preparation for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The result: she stepped onto the podium with a bronze medal. Following this victory, she took a break from sports in 2001 to experience the joys of motherhood for the first time.
She returned to competition in 2003, winning the national title three consecutive years starting in 2005. In the World Cup, she secured multiple top 10 finishes. In 2007, she finished 7th in Hamburg, achieving her best result at the World Championships. In 2012, she gave birth to a second boy.
In recent years, she has retired from competitive sports while maintaining her physical training for personal well-being, continuing to take on athletic challenges such as trail running. On a blog bearing her name, Magali di Marco shares her life as a former champion.Language spoken by the speaker
