Who is Guy Vallancien?

Professor Guy Vallancien is one of Europe’s most distinguished urologists and a globally recognized pioneer in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. A member of the French National Academy of Medicine, the French Academy of Surgery, and President of the Convention on Health Analysis and Management (CHAM), he has been at the forefront of medical innovation for over four decades.

Throughout his career, he has combined clinical excellence, scientific research, and systemic thinking, leading both hospital departments and national health policy initiatives. As a former Professor of Urology at Paris Descartes University and Chief of Urology at Institut Mutualiste Montsouris, he played a central role in revolutionizing surgical practices in Europe.

He is also an advisor to the French Ministry of Health on topics ranging from hospital restructuring and surgical reform to physician compensation and university hospital governance. Today, his lectures and writings aim to rethink medicine in the face of digital transformation, demographic shifts, and ethical disruption.
