She began karate at the age of 5 in Veyras before continuing in Sion, reaching the rank of 3rd Dan black belt today.
With a track record that includes 15 Swiss championship titles, three European championship titles (Estonia 2008, Switzerland 2011, and Finland 2014) along with numerous international successes, Fanny Clavien is the greatest Swiss female karateka in history.
At the end of 2016, she retired from top-level competition, but did not completely leave the world of karate. As she says herself: "the passion will always be there, it will not disappear."
Holding a commercial employee CFC diploma, she went on to train as a professional journalist and, following an internship at the Vaud-Fribourg channel La Télé, is now a host on Vertical Radio – sister station of Rhône FM – in Sion.
In recent years, Fanny has also taken up another sport: wakesurfing, a water sport that involves riding the wake created by a boat without being attached to it. This activity, initially a simple leisure pursuit, grew into a true passion and, driven by her competitive spirit, Fanny has already become Swiss champion twice.Language spoken by the speaker
