The Fribourg native boasts an exceptional track record, having won eight world titles (overall ranking and half-pipe). His talent allowed him not only to win Snowboard World Cup events in half-pipe, but also in boardercross and alpine snowboard—a truly exceptional feat unmatched by any other rider. His career includes over 50 podium finishes between 1991 and 2002 and qualification for the Nagano Olympic Games.

In June 1998, he also took on the responsibilities of President of the ISF (International Snowboard Federation), which has now been integrated into the International Ski Federation. Yet Berti remains an athlete with his feet firmly on the ground. He never sought magazine covers, focusing on his athletic performance rather than his image.

For three years, from 2004 to 2007, he directed winter sports marketing operations for a major company, Scott Sports; then from 2007 to 2010, he served as Head of Sales for the brand. This executive role within a renowned brand added another dimension to his expertise, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the sports industry in the broadest sense.

Indeed, alongside his professional career, Berti Denervaud is an active leading specialist in sports competition and organization. He spearheaded the ground-up development of the pinnacle freeride event represented by the flagship competition: Xtreme Verbier. If this event enjoys such recognition today, it is largely because Berti established the points system, the amateur and professional race calendar, specifications for organizers, and a rigorous judging methodology. All of these established frameworks remain in place today.

Today, Bertrand Dénervaud lives in Gingins. Since 2010, he has been Head of Sport Development for the Freeride World Tour. Still deeply engaged in the world of sports, he serves as a judge during Freeride World Tour competitions.
